How this was made
What sources, and how they were checked
From papers to pages
- Select 218 papers in Korean cultural psychology — key papers and post-2010 studies are published first
- Extract the text (OCR for scanned papers)
- Write a card for each paper — every finding with an original quote and page number
- Machine-check each quote against the source; discard any that fail
- Review separately that no paraphrase goes beyond what its quote says
- Check author, year, and journal against an external bibliographic database (OpenAlex) and the paper’s first page
- Translate into English — Korean quotes stay in Korean beside the translation
About the English edition
Nearly all source papers are in Korean. The English text is translated from the Korean cards; Korean terms (jeong, han, chemyeon…) are kept and explained rather than replaced, and each quote is shown in the original Korean beside its translation.
AI disclosure
The summaries, explainers, and translations on this site were written by AI (Anthropic’s Claude). A person chose the papers and set the direction. Every supporting quote and page number was checked character by character against the original by a program, and quotes that did not match were left out. Because the text is AI-written, interpretations may miss nuances of the original — please check the original paper for anything important. The tone draws on the style of public lectures; no researcher wrote or reviewed this text.
